The Scariest Thing I Saw Today

It was a very long day.
It was a very long weekend.
And when I came home and opened my mailbox, this is the face that greeted me on the cover of Newsweek.....

Mormons terrify me. And this man terrifies me more than the boogie man in the closet or the green eyed hairy monster under my bed.

Well, Mormons do not neccessarily terrify me more than any other religious groups of which I am suspect, but I know what you are talking about.

Ever been to the Temple in SLC, yikes, them people are all beige- beige skin, hair, eyes and clothes.

I just reread "Under the Banner of Heaven". I feel your pain.

Mormons love jell-o too.
I know now why I have always hated Jell-0.

NY - that was the book that put the true mormon fear in me. That and the Frontline show on the mormons.

You remembered my jell-o tangent. I feel all warm inside. They better not baptise me after I'm dead!

. . . Especially not in jell-O.

The residents of Salt Lake City eat more lime flavored gelatin than any other city in the U.S.

That is a fact!

I have a good friend, who's a Mormon, from Utah, and he's a great, "normal" (as normal as any of us) guy. He's a history teacher, married (to one wife), and has two adorable little boys. He's enormously sarcastic and quite funny.

That said, he has a fairly healthy disregard for some of the Mormon beliefs/practices, which I think is healthy no matter what religion you may subscribe to.
